The makers of ‘Vadhandhi’ have unveiled the trailer for the second season of the acclaimed crime thriller, offering a glimpse into a fresh investigation led by M. Sasikumar’s character, Sub-Inspector Moosa Raaza.
Created, written and directed by Andrew Louis, the new season shifts the narrative from Kanyakumari, the setting of the first instalment, to Madurai. The story begins with the discovery of skeletal remains near a highway, leading investigators to arrest a man named Mani. Although several pieces of evidence appear to implicate him, Moosa Raaza is unconvinced that the case is as straightforward as it seems.
As Mani refuses to either confess or defend himself, the investigating officer finds himself wrestling with questions of truth, justice and personal conscience while attempting to uncover what really happened.
Season 2 features the return of Vivek Prasanna alongside newcomers including Yashwanth, Anagha Maruthora, Aparna Das, Revathy Sharma and Arjun Nandhakumar.
Producers Pushkar and Gayathri have said the upcoming chapter expands the franchise’s exploration of truth, perception and suspense while introducing an emotionally driven mystery. They also praised Andrew Louis for taking the series in a new direction without losing the essence that made the first season popular.
The debut season, headlined by SJ Suryah and Laila, centred on the disappearance of a young woman named Velonie and the investigation that exposed several unexpected secrets. Titled ‘Vadhandhi: The Mystery of Mani’, the second season is set to premiere on Prime Video on August 7.
