Multiple announcements about multilingual projects in Kollywood – F’day Spl. Article by Naveen

 

Ever since the language barriers have been broken, several projects from Kollywood are being made in multiple languages simultaneously. This has been an eventful week with announcements made about several multilingual projects. Let us take a look at some of the notable announcements that were made this week.

Thalapathy 66:

Shooting for ‘Thalapathy 66’ starring Vijay and directed by Vamshi Paidipally commenced on Wednesday. The movie was launched officially with a pooja ceremony in Chennai. Rashmika Mandhana has been roped in as the female lead. It was recently announced that Thaman will compose the music for the movie. Dil Raju and Shirish of Sri Venkateswara Creations will produce the film. This film is also expected to be released in multiple languages.

Lathi:

Starring Vishal as cop, the movie is directed by Vinod Kumar and is produced by Ramana and Nandaa under the banner of Rana Productions. First look of the poster was released by Karthi. Shooting for the movie took place in Hyderabad and it said that the movie has some high-octane stunt sequences. Sunaina plays the female lead in the flick. ‘Lathi’ is set to be a multi-lingual release.

Gatta Kusthi:

Actor Vishnu Vishal announced the title of his next film as ‘Gatta Kusthi’. The film is directed by Chella Ayyavu. The project is bankrolled by Vishnu Vishal along with Ravi Teja. Aishwarya Lekshmi has been roped in as the female lead. Shooting for the movie kickstarted in Pollachi. The film is said to be a wrestling based drama. This will be a bilingual project. The movie has been titled ‘Matti Kusthi’ is Telugu.

Oh My Ghost:

The first look poster of Sunny Leone’s debut Tamil flick ‘Oh My Ghost’ was released by Vijay Sethupathi and Venkat Prabhu. The film stars Cook with Comali fame Dharsha Gupta, comedian Sathish, Yogi Babu, Thangadurai, Thilak Ramesh in the main roles. The movie directed by Yuvan will release in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. The film is produced by Veera Shakthi and K Sasi Kumar under the banner Vau Media Entertainment and White horse studios.

Yashoda:

The makers of Samantha’s Yashoda have announced that the movie will be released on 12 August. The pan-Indian film is directed by Hari and Harish. The project produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad will release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Star cast of the film also includes Unni Mukundan and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar. The entire shooting of the film is expected to be wrapped up by the first half of May, 2022.

Regina:

Sunaina will be starring in a female-centric film directed by debutant Domin DSilva. The title and first look poster of the movie has been released. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. Bankrolled by debutante producer Sathish Nair of Yellow Bear Production LLP.
