Lokesh Kanagaraj takes a key decision following the ‘Leo’ backlash

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s previous movie, Vijay and Trisha-starrer ‘Leo’, released as a Vijaya Dasami treat on October 19 and ended up as a huge money-spinner at the ticket counters.

The film ended its theatrical run with a mammoth gross of over Rs 620 crore at the global box office.

It’s well known that Lokesh will be directing Superstar Rajinikanth in his next movie.

Tentatively titled ‘Thalaivar171’, the film will be going on floors in the summer next year.

Now, in a latest interview while promoting his maiden production, ‘Fight Club’, Lokesh has made some interesting comments on the backlash he received for ‘Leo’ second half.

“I have heard about the criticism on Leo’s second half and I have taken note of it and I’ll be more careful for my next project with Rajinikanth sir,” Lokesh said.

The director went on to add that from now on, he will not be announcing the release dates of all his future movies to have a better creative control.

Apart from Rajinikanth, ‘Thalaivar171’ is also expected to feature popular South Indian actors Prithviraj Sukumaran, Raghava Lawrence and Sivakarthikeyan in significant roles.

Sun Pictures is bankrolling this project, while Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music.
