The official trailer for Suriya and Trisha’s much-awaited film ‘Karuppu’ was unveiled on Sunday, revealing a gritty narrative that bridges the gap between folklore and a courtroom thriller.
Directed by RJ Balaji, who also plays the lead antagonist, the trailer highlights a long-pending case involving an elderly man and his granddaughter who are struggling against a corrupt system.
Suriya appears in a dual space, portrayed as a calm lawyer named Saravanan inside the courtroom and a violent, “godly” force on the streets, wielding an aruval to deliver justice.
Trisha plays a determined lawyer fighting the case against a ruthless defense counsel played by Balaji.
