The makers of ‘Sardar 2’, starring Karthi, have officially announced the film’s release date. The much-anticipated spy action thriller is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on September 10, 2026.
The announcement has generated excitement among fans who have been awaiting an update since production wrapped up. Directed by P. S. Mithran, the sequel follows the success of the 2022 hit ‘Sardar’, which earned praise for its blend of action, espionage and Karthi’s performance in a dual role.
The film is being released during the Vinayagar Chaturthi holiday period, a season often considered favourable for major theatrical releases. The cast also includes S. J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Rajisha Vijayan and Yogi Babu.
The release is expected to spark a competitive box office battle, as ‘Ranabaali’, featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, is slated to hit theatres on September 11. Another notable release, ‘Demonte Colony 3’, is also expected to be part of the festive season lineup.
