‘Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1,’ the highly-anticipated prequel to the 2022 global blockbuster ‘Kantara’, is set for its digital debut on Prime Video on October 31st.
Written, directed, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, the film is a mythological epic set during the 300 CE Kadamba dynasty in pre-colonial Karnataka.
The storyline delves deep into the origins of the forest’s divine legend, exploring the initial conflict between the tribal people and a tyrannical king.
Shetty plays the dual role of Berme, a formidable warrior, and Mayakara, a fisherman. The cast also features Jayaram and Rukmini Vasanth as King Rajashekara and Princess Kanakavathi, respectively, along with Gulshan Devaiah as the ruthless Prince Kulashekhara.
