Kamal Haasan returned to India on Monday after overseeing the pre-production work for his highly-anticipated movie, ‘Thug Life’ in the United States.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life commenced filming earlier this year. The film marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after more than 36 years.
The iconic duo, celebrated for their classic collaboration in ‘Nayakan’ (1987), is embarking on an epic adventure set against the backdrop of a dystopian world.
‘Thug Life’ captured the audience’s imagination with a teaser unveiling its title, visual style, and Kamal Haasan’s character look.
Based on the teaser, Mani Ratnam appears to challenge the conventional expectations associated with his films, embracing the profound impact of slow-motion shots and highly stylized action sequences to appeal to a broader mainstream audience.
In the teaser, Kamal introduces himself as Rangarayar Sakthivel Naiker before launching a violent attack on his mysteriously dressed enemies, set against the vast desolate plain.
The teaser promises a fresh cinematic take on the themes of a dystopian world, with Kamal portraying an outlaw.
