Kamal Haasan likely to play cameo in Silambarasan’s next

If the buzz in the industry is to be believed, Kamal Haasan is all set to make a cameo appearance in his upcoming production, which is tentatively being referred to as STR 48.
The film stars Silambarasan TR in the lead, and is helmed by Desingh Periyasamy.
The shoot is expected to begin next week and is said to be a film made on a large budget of Rs 100 crore.
It is touted to be a period drama. This is the first time that Raaj Kamal Films International is bankrolling a film, which stars STR.
The film’s director Desingh Periyasamany had earlier spearheaded Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’, which featured Dulquer Salmaan, Ritu Varma, Rakshan and Niranjani Ahathian in the lead.
The film was a commercial success. STR 48 will mark his sophomore project.
Desingh Periyasamany stated that STR 48 was nothing short of a miracle. Taking to his social media handle, the director wrote, “I feel extrmly grtful for the unimaginable miracles of my life. Having the privilege of narrating a story to Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan sir for being gvn the opportunity to direct under his prestigious @RKFI is a dream come true.Thank you #Mahendran Sir for making this happen (sic).”
Silambarasan was last seen in Obeli Krishna’s long-delayed film, ‘Pathu Thala’, which had him essaying the role of AG Raavanan, a dreaded gangster.
The actor shared screen space with Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Gautham Menon in the film, which was a remake of the Kannada hit, Mufti.
