Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan has expressed his admiration for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic ‘The Odyssey’, describing it as a cinematic achievement that audiences should not miss.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, Kamal praised Nolan’s ambitious adaptation of Homer’s classic poem, saying the filmmaker had transformed the legendary tale into a grand visual experience. He also hinted that he has recorded a special tribute to the film, which will be released in India alongside its theatrical debut.
In his post, Kamal remarked that while Homer imagined the timeless story centuries ago, Nolan had brought it to the big screen with remarkable vision. He added that the film deserves to be celebrated across generations and encouraged movie lovers to watch it in theatres.
The veteran actor also made a light-hearted reference to India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), noting that the board had already viewed and cleared the film.
Based on the ancient Greek epic attributed to Homer, ‘The Odyssey’ chronicles the long and perilous journey of Odysseus as he attempts to return home following the Trojan War. The film marks Nolan’s first major venture into mythological storytelling and has been filmed across several countries using advanced IMAX technology. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in July 2026.
