Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan have officially begun filming for ‘Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2’. The sequel to Nag Ashwin’s dystopian epic commenced its new schedule in Hyderabad on February 24, 2026.
Amitabh Bachchan confirmed the historic reunion on his official blog, sharing heartwarming images of him embracing Kamal Haasan.
“Meeting up with the great KAMAL HAASAN… we shall be working together after ages… last in Geraftaar (1985),” the veteran star wrote. While both actors were part of the first installment, they did not share significant screen time; the sequel is set to feature a massive face-off between Bachchan’s Ashwatthama and Haasan’s Supreme Yaskin.
The production has taken a major turn following the departure of Deepika Padukone, with widespread reports suggesting Sai Pallavi is the top choice to take over the pivotal role.
This schedule is expected to be a long one, focusing on high-stakes confrontation scenes before Prabhas joins the sets later this summer.
