‘Kalki 2’: Amitabh Bachchan wraps up key Hyderabad schedule

Actor Amitabh Bachchan has officially wrapped up a crucial shooting schedule for Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2’.
The actor, who plays the immortal protector Ashwatthama, confirmed the news on his blog, referring to the project simply as “K2.”

The recent schedule in Hyderabad featured high-intensity sequences involving both Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

While Bachchan has returned to Mumbai, the production continues at a brisk pace. The sequel is expected to dive deeper into the face-off between Ashwatthama and the antagonist Supreme Yaskin, with the makers aiming to complete major portions before lead star Prabhas joins for the next phase.

During this schedule, the two veterans reportedly shared several emotional and action-heavy scenes that are being touted as the highlights of the sequel.

Director Nag Ashwin shared a brief update stating that the scale of the second part is “exponentially higher” than the first. Fans are eagerly waiting for a teaser, though the team remains focused on finishing the extensive VFX-heavy sequences before announcing a 2027 release.
