Jinn – The Pet

– Review

Mugen Rao runs a music band in Malaysia. He decides to return back to India after suffering a love failure.

He accidentally happens to touch a box containing Jinn and he instantly wins Rs 5 lakh prize.

Mugen considers the box to be lucky and brings it to Tamil Nadu.

However, the Jinn do good things only to Mugen and the rest of the family members suffer.

With no other option left, Mugen throws the Jinn away. But, the Jinn gains its full form and what happens next forms the core plot of the movie.

The concept taken up for director T R Bala is very impressive. The way in which he narrates the story is also appreciable.

However, the director could have focussed more on the antics of the Jinn. A few scenes could have been written better to make the movie all the more interesting.

A special mention has to be made about the special effects for the Jinn which compliments the fantasy elements in the movie.

Mugen Rao delivers a compelling performance in the movie. He exudes charm and confidence in his role.

Bhavya Trikha has understood her role well and has delivered what was expected from her.

Bala Saravanan is the soul of the movie who keeps the audience engaged and entertained.

Rest of the actors including Nizhagal Ravi, Radha Ravi, Vinodhini Vaidhyanathan and Vadivukkarasi have all done their part well.

Music by Vivek Mervin is impressive and is complimented well by Arjun Raja’s camerawork.

Rating: 3.75/5
