Vijay’s final film, ‘Jana Nayagan’, producers have opted to end their long-standing legal battle with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The writ petition filed by KVN Productions has been listed “For Withdrawal” before the Madras High Court for February 10, 2026.
This move indicates that the makers have agreed to the CBFC’s decision to refer the film to a Revision Panel, dropping their demand for immediate court-ordered certification.
By withdrawing the case, the producers are attempting to break the deadlock that stalled the film’s original January release.
The Revision Panel will now review the content, which reportedly includes sensitive references to political affairs and the military.
While a new release date hasn’t been locked, the industry expects a swift resolution once the panel provides its final recommendation, potentially clearing the path for a grand late-summer debut.
