With the Tamil Nadu government permitting theaters to allow 100 per cent occupancy from 1 November, audience are all set to return to theaters this Deepavali. However, there a few films that are gearing up for OTT release as well. Let us take a look at the films that are releasing for Deepavali this year.
Annathae:
With Rajinikanth’s Annathae all set to be released on Deepavali, there cannot be a better crowd puller. The trailer of the movie which was released recently has increased the hype for the flick. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the movie is billed as a complete family entertainer. Nayanthara plays the female lead, while Keerthi Suresh comes as Rajini’s sister. The star cast also comprises of Kushbu, Meena, Soori and Prakash Raj among others.
Jai Bhim:
Though the movie will not have theaterical release, it is one of the most anticipated movie of the year. Suriya will be playing the role of an advocate who fights for the rights of tribal people. The project is directed by T J Gananvel and has Rajisha Vijayan, PRakash Raj and Rao Ramesh in important roles. The movie will be hitting Amazon Prime Video on 2 November.
Enemy:
The teaming up of Arya and Vishal after Avan-Ivan has raised the expectations for the movie. The project is directed by Anand Shankar and is bankrolled by Vinod Kumar under the banner Mini Studios. The movie seems to revolve around two friends who later turn in to foes.
MGR Magan:
The movie which has Sathyaraj, Sasikumar and Samuthirakani in the lead roles is about a villager and his fight against a man who wants to destroy a nearby mountain. The flick is directed by Ponram and is all set to release on Disney+Hotstar.
Vaa Deal:
Vaa Deal is one of the long pending projects of Arun Vijay. The movie was announced in 2012 and was delayed due to various reasons. Karthika Nair plays the female lead and the star cast also includes Vamsi Krishna, Kalyan, Suja Varunee, Sathish and Jayaprakash. The movie is written and directed by Rathina Shiva.
