CM Vijay visits Ajith Kumar after mother’s demise; final rites held in Chennai

Ajith Kumar is mourning the loss of his mother, Mohini, who passed away in Chennai after facing health-related challenges. Her death comes nearly three years after the passing of her husband, P. Subramaniam, in 2023.

One of the most notable moments during the period of mourning was the visit of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, who personally met Ajith and his family to offer condolences. His visit drew attention as a gesture of support during the actor’s time of grief.

Mohini’s mortal remains were kept at the family’s residence in Injambakkam, where relatives, friends, and a few members of the film fraternity paid their respects. Following the homage, her body was taken to the Besant Nagar Electric Crematorium, where the last rites were conducted in the presence of close family members and a limited gathering on Sunday, in keeping with the family’s wish for privacy.

Ajith, known for keeping his personal life away from the spotlight, took part in the funeral ceremonies and performed the final rites for his mother. Visuals from the occasion showed the actor accompanying his mother on her final journey, a moment that resonated deeply with many of his fans. The actor returned to Chennai from Dubai soon after receiving the news, ensuring he was with his family during the final farewell.

Several prominent personalities from the Tamil film industry visited the residence to express their sympathies. Among those who paid their respects were Trisha Krishnan, Sarathkumar, Nassar, director S. Shankar, filmmaker A. L. Vijay, and director Siva, who stood by Ajith and his family during the difficult time.

The passing of Mohini Mani has prompted an outpouring of condolences from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers across the state, as they extend their support to Ajith Kumar and his loved ones.
