Filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu has joined the growing appreciation for the recently released romantic comedy ‘Hi’, congratulating the film’s team on social media.
Ashwath, who is currently working on Rajinikanth’s ‘Dharman’, took to X to share his thoughts on the Vishnu Edavan directorial. He described the film as a beautifully crafted and wonderfully written romantic comedy, while appreciating its warmth and sincerity.
The director particularly highlighted the film’s innocent and genuine emotional core. He also praised the lead actors Kavin and Nayanthara for their performances and complimented composer Jen Martin for the music.
‘Hi’ brings Kavin and Nayanthara together for the first time as lead actors. The film marks the directorial debut of Vishnu Edavan, who previously worked as an assistant director with filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj.
The cast also includes Radikaa Sarathkumar, the late K Bhagyaraj, Kathir and Prabhu, among others. The film has attracted attention for its old-school romantic comedy treatment. It has also been compared to the style of popular 1990s Hollywood romances, particularly films such as ‘Sleepless in Seattle’, ‘You’ve Got Mail’, ‘One Fine Day’ and ‘Notting Hill’.
