Music composer AR Rahman’s son, AR Ameen, sustained minor injuries after the luxury car he was travelling in collided with a taxi in Chennai during the early hours of Monday.
According to police, the accident took place at around 3.30 am near Olympia Tech Park. Ameen was travelling towards Guindy on Jawaharlal Nehru Road when a cab reportedly came onto the main road from a side street and struck the car.
Ameen was accompanied by a friend, and both suffered minor injuries in the crash. They were taken to a private hospital for treatment and were discharged after receiving medical attention.
A passenger in the taxi was also hurt in the collision. The passenger was admitted to Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital and received treatment before being allowed to leave.
The incident is being investigated by the Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing. Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the collision and the movements of both vehicles before the accident.
