Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming Tamil film ‘Baththa’ is scheduled to reach theatres worldwide on October 1. The film marks the third collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and filmmaker Balaji Tharaneetharan. The duo previously worked together on ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’ and ‘Seethakaathi’, making their latest reunion particularly significant for Tamil cinema audiences.
‘Baththa’ is presented by filmmaker Atlee and Star Studio18 and is jointly produced by A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios Production. Atlee and Sethupathi are also reuniting after their association with the pan-India hit ‘Jawan’, although Sethupathi now takes the lead in this project.
Lijomol Jose has been cast opposite Sethupathi in the film. The technical crew includes Sai Abhyankkar as the music composer, Selvakumar SK as cinematographer, R Kalaivanan as editor and T Muthuraj as production designer. Ashwin Murugan is the co-producer.
The film is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare. The reunion of Sethupathi and Tharaneetharan has generated considerable interest, particularly because their earlier films established a distinctive creative partnership. With ‘Baththa’, the two are returning to work together for the third time, while Atlee’s association adds further interest to the project.
