Actor and motorsport enthusiast Ajith Kumar has spoken about his involvement in professional racing and the attention it has brought to motorsport in India.
During a recent interaction with a reporter at one of his races, Ajith was asked whether he felt responsible for increasing awareness of motorsport in the country.
The actor said he did not consider himself the person chosen to represent or popularise the sport in India. He explained that his involvement comes from his personal passion for motorsport and his desire to pursue a long-standing dream.
At the same time, Ajith expressed hope that his participation would encourage young people, sponsors and government authorities to consider bringing more international motorsport events to India.
Ajith has been focusing on racing during his break from cinema. He is expected to begin work on ‘Daredevil’ directed by Adhik Ravichandran, in November. He also has a documentary titled ‘Gladiators’ which focuses on his motorsport journey.
