Hiphop Tamizha Adhi has confirmed that his upcoming musical entertainer ‘Meesaya Murukku 2’ will arrive in cinemas worldwide on September 25.
The announcement came through a promotional video shared by the filmmaker, offering audiences a glimpse of his character and hinting at the film’s energetic musical flavour. In one of the sequences, Adhi’s character expresses his determination to keep fighting until the very end, regardless of the outcome.
The teaser also describes the film as a “concert in theatres,” underscoring the importance of music in the sequel while introducing several members of the supporting cast.
The project revives the franchise nearly a decade after the release of ‘Meesaya Murukku’ in 2017, which marked Adhi’s directorial debut and emerged as a commercial success. Reflecting on the film’s journey earlier this year, Adhi said the original had grown from a personal aspiration into a story that resonated with audiences, making the sequel a special milestone.
In addition to leading the cast, Adhi has written, directed, composed the music and penned the lyrics for the film. The screenplay includes additional dialogues by Karan Karky and Nithish D.
The ensemble cast features Chaithra Achar, Ketika Sharma, Ramya Ranganathan, Nasser, Aadukalam Naren, Karunaas, Sha Ra and Harshath Khan.
Produced by Khushbu Sundar under the Avni Movies banner in collaboration with ACS Arun Kumar’s Benzz Media Pvt. Ltd., the film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Balaji Subramanyam, editor Fenny Oliver, art director V.S. Dinesh Kumar and stunt choreographer Action Sandhosh.
‘Meesaya Murukku 2’ will be Adhi’s first theatrical release since ‘Kadaisi Ulaga Por’, with the makers hoping to recreate the popularity of the original film.
