Kannathil Muthamittal
Kannathil Muthamittal directed by Mani Ratnam was released in 2002. Sujatha Rangarajan wrote the original story. It is one of the rare Tamil films to explore a mother-daughter relationship in depth. In the critically and commercially successful film, Keerthana played the adoptive daughter of R Madhavan and Simran.
36 Vayadhinile
The plot of the film focused around a married woman who, after putting her dreams on hold for the sake of her husband and daughter, rediscovers her true self and achieves success. Jyothika played the lead, with Rahman and Abhirami playing supporting roles. Rosshan Andrews directed the film, with Bobby Sanjay writing the screenplay. Jyothika’s comeback film after her wedding was 36 Vayadhinile, for which she received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.
Irudhi Suttru
The story follows a former boxing coach who discovers a future boxer in a fisherwoman. In the film, Ritika Singh plays a boxer who works hard to win the World Boxing Championship under the supervision of Madhavan. Sudha Kongara’s film Irudhi Suttru earned rave accolades from reviewers and audiences alike.
