#Covid-19# Lockdown Learning – spl article from Vasan. Suri

Covid – 19 – Good or Bad.

The perception changes with the perceiver and the perceived. (Not trying to be a Sashi Tharoor or Nithyananda)😃

When C is suffixed with any digit, it used to bring happiness to most of the people, until March.

C – meant Crore. No more. Covid-19 proved that Crores have no value. Post Covid-19, only Core will have value.

I have always felt that, God created the World with lot of imbalances to maintain balance.

In the same street of a town, in one house there will be joy due to a Child’s Birth and another house will be sorrowful due to someone’s death.

A person with money does not know how to utilise it successfully and the person with intellectual knowledge does not have money to bring out his ideas to the World.

First time, Nature maintained its balance by keeping all human locked up all over the World one side and let off free all the birds, wildlife, trees, reptiles, marine life to live their own life.

Always remember that the coin has two sides. Every incident and situation will also have two sides. Challenges brings in opportunity.

It is now important that, post Covid-19, we all will see and experience a New World and my own perceptions to deal with it.

8-C TO BE FOLLOWED POST COVID-19.

1. Courage – Be courageous and face the reality and have confidence that we will get over the challenges and emerge successful in future.

World will look new and behavioural changes will be seen in every walk of life. Courage to fight against all odds will be the key to success.

Challenges always bring opportunities with it.

The lockdown period was a challenge which made everyone sit at home and that gave an opportunity to the IT sector & Digital Marketing a clear edge.

They are trying to promote every activity possible to carry on from home or from one place connecting various people across the World virtually.

Digital money is also being discussed to be brought in for all types of transaction. Enough opportunities will spring up.

Health Care and Healthy Food will be of prime importance and this industry will grow in a big way.

Insurance sector both life and health will emerge with new features covering such pandemics.

Be courageous that one door closes to open another door of opportunity. Above all, are just a few and in numerous options will open up.

2. Care – Take care of yourself and your family. Care for the poor and underprivileged. Many people did care about these class of people in the society and fed them daily unmindful of media glare or propaganda.

Continue to care for everyone around you and this way the state and the Nation takes care of itself.

Use your time in lockdown to carefully select and plan the next step.

3. Curious – Be curious to know what is happening around the World and how and where can we make it to our advantage.

Curiosity to learn, curiosity to absorb new technologies n techniques will lay the foundation for the future.

4. Cost – Costs should be controlled at every level. The lockdown period have taught us to live with available resources be it Vegetables, groceries, fruits or any other requirement.

Cost and cash saving will be the order of the day and cost cutting should be at every level. The covid-19 and lockdown period taught us to live without cinemas, malls, junk foods, unnecessary travel and fuel expenses.

For business people, the lockdown provided the required time to work on all cost cutting aspects of the business and which could help in offering their products at lower prices to attract customers.

Please do not resort by any step to increase unemployment as cutting off their jobs will lead to unrest. Be mindful of the labour and team force which stood up with you at all times.

5. Competition – Please don’t get in to Cut throat competition. It will kill us only.

Never treat your own brethren in the Industry as a competitor and raise your bar to take head on with international competition.

Compete with yourself and set goals and ambitions to be improving every day. Compete with ideas and innovations in a healthy and constructive mode.

6. Consortium – in the month of March, during the lockdown six nationalised banks have decided to come under two banks.

Consortium is the best art of survival in tough times. Come together and create a Consortium of Various type of support industries to be successful in the coming times. Unity will be the Strength.

Let every speciality come together as a consortium to make a common living.

This will open up options for employment. Please remember constructive society is the one which includes everyone in it. Unemployment will have to be addressed and creating employment should be the first choice for any project.

7. Complain – Let us not Complain and waste our time. The situation before us is very serious and let us offer our constructive suggestion and solutions to get over this situation.

“Nadenna seydathu enakku, ena Kelvigal ketpadhu edharku? Nee Enna seidhai adharku ena ninaithal, nanmai unakku”

To pin point at the Government and ask what did you do for us is easy. Instead, We should target the question at us, a to what have I done for the Country. Every drop of contribution than complain will help.

As per the recent webcast, MSME is going to get lot of support from the Government and innovative plans are going to be announced and for this a portal has been opened to bring in innovative ideas. Use the opportunity.

Lot of schemes are there being announced by the Government and only we must move forward to take advantage of it.

Let’s not complain.

8. Complacent – No complacency should be encouraged at any stage that, India will be at a advantage than China. China takes much less time to turn around any situation.

Hard and Smart working, with simple/cost effective technology, with finesse in presentation will make all the difference in our Products.

Never get complacent that, what you are doing is good or enough. Keep improving on your abilities at every step.

Times have changed from single task to multi-tasking to innovative task.

All will change for good. Have the courage and confidence that you will come out triumph. Breath the fresh air and oxygen that is available free of cost. Don’t forget that sometime before we were all planning to get oxygen cylinders and cans for getting pollution free oxygen.

God and Nature have created an opportunity by infusing Covid-19 on us. Let us forget all the qualities of our past, only take the lessons from there and move forward for a “HAPPY LIVING IN A HAPPY WORLD”.
