Slow-burning crime thriller 

“Vallan”

– Review

The story revolves around Jayakumar, a Christian preacher and businessman, whose son-in-law Kamal Kamaraj is mysteriously murdered.

The police are under immense pressure from the public to solve the case. Sundar C, suspended cop is unofficially brought into assist in the case.

Sundar C is also battling personal demons, seeking justice for the murder of his fiancée.

His investigation  into Kamal’s murder unravels several other murders. However, his investigation is affected on the course. What happens next? , was Sundar C able to find the murderer forms the core plot of the movie.

Directed by V R Mani Seiyon, the movie has an interesting premise and is presented in a neat manner. However, the screenplay could have been a bit more engaging.

Sundar C has acted well in action scenes and the investigation scenes. The rest of the cast including Tanya Hope, Abirami Venkatachalam and Kamal Kamaraj have all done complete justice to their respective characters.

Mani Perumal’s cinematography is decent and Santhosh Dhayanidhi’s music is passable. Rest of the technical aspects are above average.
