A riveting revenge drama
Sengalam
– Review
Kalaiyarasan and his two brothers murder two people and are looking to kill another person. A strict police official is assigned to nab the brothers.
The cop is determined to capture the trio alive. On the other hand, there is Sharath Lohitashwa, a politician who is finding it difficult to choose a right candidate for the post of municipal chairman.
How are these two stories connected and what is the backdrop of Kalayarasan and his brothers forms the crux of the series, which is being streamed on Zee5. Director S R Prabhakaran has presented the characters in a lively manner onscreen.
The story of ‘Sengalam’ has a strong plot to become a riveting political revenge drama. There are enough twists and turns to keep the audience glued to the screen.
The cast of the series is its biggest strength. Kalaiyarasan is once again impressive in his role and adds more strength to this character.
Vani Bhojan gets a decent screen space and makes her presence felt. Sharath Lohitashwa stands out in his portrayal as an ageing politician.
Rest of the cast including Vela Ramamoorthy, Prem and Muthukumar have all done their part well. Music by Dharan is pulsating, Veltrivel Mahendran’s camerawork has captured the rural background in an effective manner.
