Rasavathi – Review

A decent thriller

Rasavathi

– Review

Arjun Das is a Siddha doctor, who is one with nature. He demonstrates his environmental consciousness by picking up litter and broken bottles and engaging strangers in conversations about environmental safety.

He meets Tanya Ravichandran, a hotel manager in Kodaikanal, who is recovering from a traumatic incident.

Sujith Shankar is a cop, who ill-treats his colleagues and hates anyone who is happy.

Arjun Das has a past with Sujith and how their paths cross again is what ‘Rasavathi’ is all about.

Directed by Santhakumar, though the story is predictable, performances by the lead actors keep the audience engaged.

The movie talks in depth about various emotions and follows three distinct phases of the main character.

Arjun Das offers a decent performance as the Siddha doctor. Arjun Das effortlessly brings to life the character with his measured dialogues and body language.

Tanya Ravichandran does a neat job of playing a woman who is a rebel at heart, but who also has a child-like side.

Sujith Shankar’s performance and character arc is one of the major positives of the movie.

He showcases the menacing nature of the character in an effective manner.

Reshma Venkatesh who makes a cameo in the film leaves her mark among the audience.

GM Sundar, Sujatah, Ramya Subramaniyan, Rishikanth, Arul Jothi and Deepa have all done well in the supporting roles. Saravanan Ilavarasu’s visuals are top notch and is complimented well by Thaman’s music.
