Struggles of a creator
Padaippalan
– Review
‘Padaippalan’ directed by Dhyan Prabhu is the story of the struggles of assistant directors to dream to achieve big in the film industry.
Dhyan Prabhu is an assistant director who wants to achieve in cinema. To pursue his dreams, he narrates a story to a producer.
However, the producer handed over the story to another director. Dejected by this Dhyan approaches the court against the producer for stealing his story.
The producer however threatens Dhyan to withdraw the case. What did Dhyan do after that forms the rest of the story.
Dhyan Prabhu has done complete justice as an assistant director. He has portrayed the pain and sufferings of an assistant director effectively.
Female leads played by Ashmitha and Nilofer do not have much to do and shine in the little scope that they have.
Valavan and Velmurugan have performed well as the antagonists.
Apart from minor setbacks Dhyan Prabhu has addressed a major issue in the film industry.
The story has gone overboard at times which could have been avoided. Cinematography by Velmurugan is appreciable, music by Bala Murali is good.
