Making the right noise
‘Murmur’
Movie Review
A team of Chennai-based paranormal YouTubers sets out to explore a cursed forest, aiming to capture real-time encounters with the “Seven Saptha Kannigal” and a vengeful spirit.
However, when they vanish without a trace, the police recover only their shattered cameras, filled with unsettling footage.
‘MurMur’ unravels through this eerie recorded evidence, exposing the horrifying events that took place.
Directed by Hemnath Narayanan, the movie does not follow the template horror story.
The director must be credited for bringing the found footage horror genre cinematic experience to Tamil audiences.
The actors who played the five main characters in the movie has done their job exceptionally well.
While most of them are debutants, they have delivered an experienced acting keeping the audience immersed. The identities of these actors have also been kept secret to maintain the authenticity of thr movie.
Even the supporting cast does not have any prominent faces, but they have all done their part well.
Cinematography by Jason transports viewers into the dense wilderness, making them feel like they are part of the eerie journey.
Music Composer Kevin Frederick has used natural soundscapes to intensify the fear factor.
Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good as well.
