Murder mystery

Manidhargal

– Review

Six friends from Dindigul get into a drunken fight in the middle of the night. Unexpectedly one of them falls down in a pool of blood after being stabbed with a liquor bottle.

An argument erupts between the friends over who is responsible for the murder.

Without knowing what to do, the friends start to panic and hide the body in a car trunk.

What happens next forms the core plot of the movie.

Directed by debutant Ram Indira, the central idea of the movie is promising.

While the first act builds intrigue, the repetition of blame and shouting at times tests the viewer’s patience.

The director has managed to convey tension and emotional breakdowns in an effective manner.

The performances by Kapil Velavan, Dhaksha, Arjun Dev Saravanan, Gunavanthan, and Sambasivam M K are sincere. The actors have performed with raw energy.

Kapil Velan takes mature decision and is strict towards his friends, Daksha brings laughter at some serious situations, Gunavanthan has contributed to the tension in the proceedings and Sambasivam adds tension in a few scenes.

Cinematography by Ajay Abraham is stunning and captures the detailing in an effective manner. The music by Anilesh L Mathew serves the story quietly.

Rating: 3.5/5
