– Review

Vadivelu serves as an MLA representing the Kasipuram constituency and is affiliated with a political party that advocates for equality and social justice.
His son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, is an Adimurai teacher and also maintains a pig farm as a hobby. In the same village, Fahadh Faasil is an influential politician, who is the district head of the political party that Vadivelu is associated with.
Keerthy Suresh operates a free coaching center and faces threats from Fahadh Faasil’s brother. Keerthy and her friends bring this problem to Udhayanidhi, which snowballs into a huge ego clash between Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil. This forms the story of Maamannan.
Directed by Maari Selvaraj, the movie delves into hard-hitting themes of oppression, reservation and social injustice. He has succeeded in terms of delivering a politically correct film.
Like his previous films, Maari has loaded this movie with metaphors and several layers. Vadivelu is thr heart and soul of this film. He has portrayed the character of a calm and composed politician in an effective manner.
On the other hand Fahadh Faasil is terrifying as the egoistic politician. These two characters are the pillars of the movie. Being his last movie, Udhayanidhi Stalin has given his for the role. This is one of his best performances so far.
Keerthy Suresh is impressive as usual and shines in her role. Rest of the cast and crew have done their part well.
A R Rahman’s music conveys the emotions of the characters in an effective manner. Theni Eswar’s camerawork is brilliant and suits the mood of the movie.
