Tale of complex relationships

“Kanneera”

– Movie Review

Kanneera is set in Malaysia and revolves around the intertwined lives of two couples—Mithran & Sreesha and Arun & Neera.
Mithran, a successful CEO, is deeply in love with Sreesha, an ambitious woman who repeatedly delays their marriage for her career.
Meanwhile, Arun, a pilot, dreams of a future in Dubai with Neera, who works at Mithran’s company.

As Sreesha moves on and Neera and Arun’s relationship faces turbulence, Mithran finds himself drawn to Neera.

Initially hesitant, Neera resists his advances, but as her own love life crumbles, Mithran persistently pursues her. How these complex relationships unfold forms the crux of the story.
The director Karthi Raven S. has set the stage for an exciting multi-relationship drama. The frames have a rich glossy look, the narrative a stylish take.
The way in which these complex relationships are handled is commendable. While the core plot is interesting, the narrative could have been much crisper and the runtime shorter.
Kathir’s Mithran is well played and carries the role in an effective manner. Nanthakumar and Chandinie Kaur are adequate in the space given.
Maya Glammy leaves an impact with her emotional prowess and has delivered a perfectly pitched performance. Koghilan Ram as her colleague peps up the scenario with his spot on comedy.
Rest of the cast including Tamil Silven Krishnan, Saravanan Devesh and Hena Saana have all done their part well
The biggest strength of Kanneera lies in its cinematography by Yehganesh. The exotic locations add grandeur, elevating the film’s aesthetic appeal.
The background adds more value to the movie along with the other technical aspects.

Rating: 3.8/5
