Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha – Review

Action and Romance

Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha

– Review

Varun is a contract killer, but only until he sees and falls in love with Raahei who is handling an important case against a Mexican drug cartel leader in the American court.

While she seems to be the last remaining member of her legal team to represent the case at the final court hearing, Varun must double up as not only her lover but also as bodyguard to safeguard her from a notorious gang trying to finish her off.

Why did Raahei get involved in the drug cartel case? Was Varun able to protect her, what happens next forms the rest of the story.

Director Gautham Menon has tried to infuse romance and action in this movie. However, it has not come out as expected.

Though the storyline is interesting, the movie is let down by the writing. The screenplay too could have been better.

Varun is convincing as the protagonist and has carried the role with conviction. He shines in the action sequences.

Raahei as the female lead has done her part well. She get the audience to sympathise for her character.

However, the chemistry between the lead pair could have been much better. Rest of the cast including Krishna have delivered what was expected from them.

Music by Karthik and Darbuka Siva are good. Rest of the technical aspects are passable.

Rating: 3.8/5
