Imprisoned with emotions

Jail

– Review

Director Vasantha Balan’s ‘Jail’ is the story of three friends who live in a housing board. The clash that happens between two gangs in the area, how the police get involved in it and the politics behind all this is the core theme of the movie.

G V Prakash along with his friends Kalai and Rocky live in the housing board. Karna is murdered by his rival gang and this changes Prakash’s life. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Director Vasantha Balan has brought out the struggles of the people who are relocated from their native places. With a clear vision, the director has conveyed his point of view with conviction.

G V Prakash delivers an intense performance and creates the much needed impact for the character. His character goes through various emotions which G V Prakash has been able to carry out convincingly.

Abarnathi gets a meaty role and has utilised it well.  Rest of the supporting cast have also done their part well creating the much needed impact for such a heavy subject.

G V Prakash Kumar’s BGM is one of the biggest strengths of the movie and elevates the emotions.

Ganesh Chandhrra’s camerawork needs special mention and the captured the housing board set up in a natural and convincing manner.
