“Andharan” Movie Review By Naveen

The hunter and the hunted

“Andharan”

– Review

After making a comeback to the big screen for the second time from television, Prajin takes on the lead role in ‘Andharan’.

The story revolves around Ivana Varun, whose prospective grooms are mysteriously murdered one after another before their weddings. To crack the baffling case, police officer Prajin steps in.

As his investigation unfolds, a series of unexpected twists emerge, not just for the protagonist, but for the audience as well. The suspense builds steadily towards a climax that keeps viewers guessing until the very end.

Prajin delivers a mature and convincing performance, lending credibility to his role as the investigating officer. His restrained and realistic acting is one of the film’s biggest strengths. Debutante Ivana Varun has room to improve, although she performs better in the emotionally demanding climax sequences. Supporting actors including Anupama Kumar, Senthil Kumari, Aishwarya Kannan, Aathiran, and Dhandapani play their parts effectively.

Hari R.S.’s background score enhances the suspense, while the songs are serviceable. Cinematographer Kishore Ramachandran deserves praise for delivering visually appealing frames despite the film’s modest budget.

Director Santhosh Ravanan attempts a fresh concept and keeps the screenplay engaging without allowing the narrative to lose momentum. While the emotional depth could have been stronger, the film succeeds where it matters most: its suspense.
