Vijay Sethupathi shines in this political satire

Thuglaq Durbar

– Review

After losing his parents at a young age, Vijay Sethupathi lives with his sister. As he spends his childhood in poverty, Vijay Sethupathi is not attached to anyone even to his own sister.

However, he acts caring to the people due to political gains. He is a low level cadre of a party headed by R Parthiban. Vijay Sethupathi slowly rises in ranks and becomes a MLA.
After the victory along with Parthiban he plans to sell a land for Rs 50 crore. However, the money goes missing and all the details are revealed to the media. Who took the money and what happens next forms the rest of the story.

Vijay Sethupathi suffers from split personality in the movie. He shows subtle variations and is impressive as usual. Raashi Khanna comes as the usual commercial movie heroine.

Though Manjima Mohan does not have any dialogues she is impressive in the role. Govind Vasantha does a great job with the background music.
Director Delhiprasad Deenadayalan stays true to the genre. He keeps the audience engaged with the twists at places.

Rating: 3/5
