Radharavi and Charanraj, two water supply magnates. While both maintain an uneasy truce, their ambitious associates—Dushyanth Jayaprakash and Shankarnag Vijayan—stoke tensions, leading to a full-blown conflict. 
Amidst the power struggles, the film sheds light on the deeper implications of water scarcity and commercialisation.
Director Jaayavelmurugun skillfully presents a layered tale of power, ambition, and betrayal. His attention to detail in the socio-political aspects of water scarcity and his ability to weave an engaging crime drama make Varunan a compelling watch.
Radharavi delivers a strong and dignified performance as Ayyavu, effortlessly embodying the role of a respected businessman. Charanraj portrays John with conviction, balancing restraint and authority. 
Dushyanth Jayaprakash and Shankarnag Vijayan add depth to the narrative with their fiery performances.
Gabriella and Haripriya bring charm to their respective roles, adding emotional layers to the story. 
Jiva Ravi as Maduraiveeran, the no-nonsense cop, plays his part convincingly, keeping the suspense alive.
The movie’s background score by Bobo Sashi , enhances the gritty tone of the narrative.
Cinematography by Srirama Santhosh effectively captures the rustic essence of Royapuram, using raw and realistic visuals. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are passable.
