High on family sentiment

Varisu

– Review

Vijay is the youngest son of three brothers in Sarathkumar’s family.
Sarathkumar asks Vijay to leave the house as the latter wants to start his own business instead of taking over the family business.
Soon Sarathkumar is diagnosed with cancer. Following a chain of events, Vijay is made the chairman of the family business. What happens next is the core theme of the story.
Director Vamsi Paidipally has made sure that the film is loaded with family sentiment, action, romance and comedy.
The director caters to the fans as well as the family audience. Vijay is introduced as a fun loving person and transforms into a tough businessman in the second half.
He has delivered the role in an effective manner. He has acted, danced and fought his heart out in the movie.
Sarathkumar is terrific in his role and is complimented well by Jayasudha. Rest of the cast including Srikanth, Shaam, Rashmika Mandhana, Yogi Babu and others have done their part well.
But there is a heavy dose of sentiments that brings the proceedings down. Songs are already a huge hit and are picturised well. Thaman’s BGM is one of the major strengths of the movie.

Rating: 3.5/5
