Life inside jail

“Sorgavaasal

– Review

Sorgavaasal is about a small eatery owner RJ Balaji who is wrongly accused of a murdering a high-ranking officer, remanded, and put in prison that is notoriously known to be home to powerful drug-peddling kingpin Selvaraghavan.

Selvaraghavan rules the jail like his kingdom, with his right hands, Samuel Abiola, an African origin who prophesises about Christianity and importance of god, and Hakkim Shah, a ruthless thug.

Left to swim for his safety in the ocean of cruelty the prison walls offer, it is up to RJ Balaji to decide if he wants to be the king of hell or suffer in heaven.

Directed by Sidharth Vishwanath, the movie mainly focuses on the darker shades present even in the kindest soul, and how a man pushed to extremes, can become dangerous than a felonious man.

RJ Balaji gets a good chance to shed his comical side and shine in scenes that makes him emote painful feelings.

Selvaraghavan is menacing as the kingpin in the jail. The way he expresses brutality is terrifying on the whole.

With every character getting their own backstory the supporting cast have performed as well.

Samuel Abiola, Hakkim Shah, Sharafudeen and Karunaas have all made their mark.

Music director Chirto Xavire’s bgm adds more intensity to the plot. Prince Anderson’s camera has captured the jail in its raw state. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good as well.
