– Review

Shanthanu Bhagyaraj is the son of Prabhu, a man most respected by villagers in the Ramnad district.
The village they live in is separated as melatheru and keezha theru. Both sections of people are considered equals and they co-exist peacefully.
Shanthanu’s love for Anandhi invites trouble as melatheru and keezha theru clashes with each other resulting in the loss of several lives.
What is the actual reason behind all this violence and loss of lives, what happens next forms the crux of Ravana Koottam.
Directed by Vikram Sugumaran, the movie has touched upon several issues including the Seema Karuvelam, the politics surrounding it.
Writing in the first half could have been better. The second half is made in an engaging manner.
The character arcs could have also been better to make an impression among the audience.
Shanthanu has done complete justice to his character and his hard work for the role is clearly visible on screen.
Prabhu is the perfect fit as the village head. His dialogue delivery, body language all suit the role.
Ilavarasu shines in his role as usual. Anandhi is very familiar in such roles and has done it with ease.
Rest of the cast have also performed well. Justin Prabhakaran’s music is average. Rest of the technical aspects are passable.

Rating: 3.5/5
