Taut crime thriller

– Review
The cops in Trichy are shocked over the gruesome murder of a woman, and they lose sleep after many such crimes are reported.
The department ropes in Sarath Kumar and Ashok Selvan to handle the case.
The former is a veteran and short tempered while the latter, a new rookie, is emotionally fragile.
Though they do not gel well initially, they realize each other’s strengths during the journey.
Their investigation leads to shocking revelations, but little did they know that the evidence they have gathered isn’t enough.
The duo also realizes that the suspicious person who they have been following for a while isn’t the real culprit.
What happens next, were they able to crack the case forms the rest of the story.
Even with a predictable premise, director Vignesh Raja has managed to keep the proceedings interesting with intriguing characters.
Screenplay for the movie is tightly-woven and offers a few edge-of-the-seat moments as well.
Vignesh has not included any unnecessary scenes offering a gripping viewing experience.
Sarath and Ashok come up with earnest performances. While Sarathkumar is not new to such characters, the veteran has delivered what was expected from him.
Ashok Selvan as the fragile cop fits the role perfectly. Nikhila Vimal gets limited screenspace and is impressive in the scenes that she appears in.
Rest of the cast including Harish Kumar and Santosh Kezzhatoor have all done their part well.
Jakes Bejoy’s BGM gels well with the theme of the movie and Kalaiselvan Sivaji’s camerawork is impressive.
