A neat horror flick
“Pechi”
– Review
A group of friends visit a mountain village called Aranmanai Kaadu. A local forest employee takes them trekking as a side business.
The forest officer, who is well aware of the supernatural happenings and who controls it warns the group about the dangers of the forest.
Defying his warning, the behaviour of the group leads them to become a feast for Pechi. Who is that Pechi? What is she waiting for? What will happen if she catches the group forms the core plot of the story.
Writer-director Ramachandran B has done a good job in holding the attention of the audience throughout the running time of the film.
The plot is set up in a convincing manner and is interesting as well. Though most horror films do not follow logic, the director has tried to infuse logic in the scenes which is good to see.
Bala Saravanan has played a full-fledged serious role as the forest employee.
Gayathrie Shankar who is one among the group has delivered a neat performance.
Rest of the cast including Seeniammaal, Dev, Preethi Nedumaran, Jana and Natturaja have all done their part well.
The entire cast have played their part well which is one of the biggest strengths of the movie.
The movie is technically sound with a stellar background score by Rajesh Murugesan and scintillating camerawork by Parthiban. Editing by Ignaitious Aswin is also a big plus.
