Mother’s love

Niram Maarum Ulagil

– Review

The anthology brings together four stories on motherly relationships which all go through different forms of struggle.

Natty has a situation where he is trying to make amends to his past, where his mother was a sex worker, Rio’s story is about him funding cancer treatment for his mother.

There’s also Bharathiraja’s story which is emotionally the highest peak point, as he plays the father ill treated by his sons.

The final story which could be the best of the lot, is about Sandy playing an auto driver who runs into a unique character.

Directed by  Britto JB, all the four stories in the film show promise and are interestingly written, but the way in which they are executed onscreen is too melodramatic than the subtle emotions.

Natty, Rio Raj, Bharathiraja – Vadivukkarasi, and Sandy, who play the lead roles in the four stories, have all done their job flawlessly.

Co-starring with them are Tulasi, Yogi Babu, Aadhirai, Kanika, Loveline Chandrasekhar, Rishikant, Egan, Vigneshkanth, Kavia Arivumani, Aira Krishnan, Mullai Arasi, who are all apt choices for the roles.

Music by Dev Prakash adds more value to the movie and keeps the proceedings interesting. Camerawork by Mallika Arjun and Manikanda Raja have captured the emotions in an effective manner. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are passable.

Rating: 3.5/5
