Begins well, ending not so

Naane Varuven

– Review

The movie is about twin brothers who are separated at a young age.
While one of them becomes a family man (Prabhu), the other sibling becomes a psychopath (Kathir).
Prabhu leads a happy life with his wife and daughter, Kathir returns back to haunt them.
What happens next forms the rest of the story. Director Selvaraghavan has kept the proceedings simple and raw.
There are only a few characters which ensures that there is no unnecessary deviation from the core plot.
He grabs the attention of the audience right from the word go and by the time the movie reaches the interval the audience are completely into the film.
Selva was not able to manage to maintain the intensity in the second half which is the major downside of the film.
Yuvan Shankar Raja is bang on with his BGM and the ‘Veera Soora’ song is goosebumps stuff.
Cinematographer Om Prakash has captured the mood of the movie effectively.
He has made good use of the landscapes to convey the emotions of the characters.

Rating: 3.3/5
