Naai Sekar

– Review

Sathish is an IT employee who is not interested in his job. Meanwhile, his neighbour George Maryan is a scientist who is trying to alter the DNA of humans and animals.

Though George does not get the desired results, he continues his experiment. One day Sathish gets bit by a dog named Padayappa following which his character gets changed with the dog. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

The movie directed by Kishore Rajkumar is completely devoid of logic, and the team accepted it with the disclaimer even before the movie begins. The premise taken up by Kishore is very interesting and has delivered it in a convincing manner.

Sathish has put in a lot of effort to imitate the mannerisms of the dog. His chemistry with Pavithra Lakshmi is top notch. His witty dialogues and body language evoke laughter. Pavithra gives a cute performance with her girl next door look.

Special mention has to be made about the Labrador dog who has acted as Padayappa. ‘Mirchi’ Siva who has given his voice for the dog has done a tremendous job.

The movie is technically sound as well. Ajeesh has done a decent job with the background and the songs as well. Anirudh’s ‘Edakku Modakku’ song stands out from the rest. Praveen Balu’s camerawork is bright and colourful.

Rating : 3.3/5
