Caught between love and loyalty
Michael
– Review
Sundeep goes to Mumbai with the sole purpose of killing his father for betraying his mother. Gautham Vasudev Menon who is already a big don in Mumbai takes Sundeep under his wing.
Sundeep saves Gautham on two occasions which makes him a trusted aide. Gautham goes on and kills everyone who tried to kill him.
He assigns the task of killing a person along with his daughter to Sundeep.
He goes to Delhi to complete the mission but he falls in love with Divyansha who is the daughter of the person he needs to kill. What will Sundeep do now forms the rest of the story.
Starting from the 90s backdrop, every single aspect including the background score, visuals, mafia storyline, hero characterisation and his upbringing are conveyed in a neat manner.
Director Ranjith Jaykodi has come up with an interesting screenplay. However, the plot of the movie could have been better. There are a few good twists and turns. Sundeep Kishan looked good in Michael’s character.
He has focused a lot on his appearance as is quite stylish. Divyansha Kaushik does not have much scope in the movie.
Gautham Menon gets a strong role and has delivered it with conviction. Vijay Sethupathi has as usual done his part well.
Rest of the cast including Varalaxmi and Anasuya Bharadwaj have delivered what was expected from them. Sam CS’ BGM lifts a lot of scenes. Kiran Kaushik did a fantastic job as the DOP.
Rating: 3.3/5
