A well made crime drama
Kurup
– Review
Dulquer Salman starts as a small-time thief and later plans to settle in life after one big crime. He makes everyone believe that he is dead and flees the country after getting the insurance money.
However, he returns back to India in the name of Kurup who becomes the country’s most wanted fugitive. Who is this Kurup and how does he evade the cops forms the rest of the story. Director Srinath Rajendran has given the audience a peek into Kurup’s inner life.
The film showcases his rise and the various aspects of his life. Dulquer Salman has delivered a decent performance and the entire flick is a one-man show.
Be it his looks, body language or screen presence, Dulquer has aced it all.
There are decent thriller elements in the flick and the suspense-filled scenes come out quite well.
The way crime scenes are showcased looks good on screen. Sobhita Dhulipala gets to drive the story for a considerable part in the first half with her perspective. Indrajith Sukumaran as DSP has done a fantastic job.
Story and script, penned by Jithin K Jose, K S Aravind and Daniell Sayooj Nair is good.
Sushin Shyam’s background score adds more life to the scenes than everything else happening in it.
