Kalaga Thalaivan -Review by Naveen

Devil is in the details

Kalaga Thalaivan

Classified information about a leading software company is leaked following which the company’s shares fall down drastically.
Who leaked the information, how did they do it, why did they do it and how Udhayanidhi Stalin is connected to this forms the crux of Kalaga Thalaivan.
Director Magizh Thirumeni has as usual dwelled deep into the crime that he wants to speak out about.
There is so much research work done for the story which is visible on screen. He has not done any commercial compromises and has conveyed the message to the point.
What is interesting is that the antagonist always has the upper hand over the hero which keeps the audience in a tense of how Udhayanidhi will outsmart Aarav.
Udhayanidhi has delivered a subtle performance and suits the role well. He scores well with his body language, there are minimal dialogues.
Even the action sequences do not go overboard at any point. On the other hand, Aarav is menacing as the villain.
There is villainism written all over his character and he has delivered it in a neat manner. Kalaiarasan and Nidhi Agarwal have done their part well.
Srikanth Deva’s BGM is good. Aroll Corelli’s song are okayish. Dhillraj’s cinematography is impressive.

Rating: 3.5/5
