Director Vignesh Shivan is known for his quirky storylines and the worlds that he creates from. ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ is no different.

Vijay Sethupathi is born in a family which believes that they will die if they get married.
Vijay Sethupathi’s father dies on the day he is born, shortly his mother also falls sick.
So he leaves his hometown. He becomes a cab driver and eventually falls in love with Nayanthara and Samantha at the same time.
However, the duo come to know that they are being two-timed. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Vijay Sethupathi is at his natural best and delivers an effortless performance.
The combination scenes with Nayanthara and Samantha are enjoyable. Nayanthara and Samantha compliment each other well.
Sreesanth as Samantha’s boyfriend does a decent job. Anirudh Ravichander has once again conjured his magic in the musical department.
