Bulls and horses

Kaari

– Review

Sasikumar is a jockey who lives in Chennai along with his father Adukalam Narain, who is a do-gooder. In a series of events, Narain’s pet horse is shot dead in front of his eyes. Following this he dies because of a heart attack.
Following the death of his father Sasikumar leaves for a village near Ramanathapuram. There is a jallikattu event organised in the village for power.
However Sasikumar gets involved in this and what is the actual reason behind his father’s death forms the rest of the story.
Director Hemanth has executed a regular bull-taming story in an effective manner.
Some of the scenes are very well written while a few fall flat. The climax scenes and the jallikattu sequences are shot well.
Sasikumar fits well in the role of a jockey as well as a bull tamer. He does complete justice to his character and is impressive.
Parvathy Arun has delivered an exceptional performance in her role.
Rest of the cast including Narain, Balaji Sakthivel, Samyuktha and Ammu Abhirami have all done their part well. Imman’s music is pulsating and adds more strength to the movie.

Rating: 3.75/5
