Chill and thrill

Jigiri Dosthu

– Review

Three friends who are on their way to a getaway in Mahabalipuram witness a girl’s kidnapping.

The trio embarks on a mission to rescue her by employing a unconventional terrorist Tracker, which was a once failed project.

Why was the girl kidnapped, were the trio able to save her, what is the backstory of the failed project forms the rest of the story.

Director Aran V has tried to convey too many things in the movie.  Though some of them have worked out well, the rest do not create the impact that the director would have desired.

A little more focus on the screenplay would have made the movie all the more interesting.

Shariq Hassan, Aran Vetriselvakkumar, and VJ Ashiq have all delivered praiseworthy performances.

Their seamless synergy and the ability to complement each other’s energies effectively are the biggest strengths of the movie.

Ammu Abhirami has done her part well and has created the impact that her character demands.

Rest of the cast including Anupama Kumar, Jangiri Madhumitha and Gowtham Sundararajan have all helped in the proceedings.

Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy’s background score is the biggest positive of the film.

Camerawork by R V Saran is impressive and has captured the proceedings in an effective manner. Rest of the technical aspects in the movie are passable as well.

Rating: 3.3/5
