EMI

– Movie Review

Siva is a monthly salary earner who buys everything he wants on EMI.

He buys a car for his girlfriend Sai Tanya on EMI. Sai Tanya becomes enamored with this and marries Siva against her father’s wishes.
Siva loses his job within a few days of his marriage. Due to this, he is unable to pay his monthly installments properly.
The company that gave him the EMI for the bike and the company that gave him the EMI for the car send their henchmen to Siva’s house and insult Shiva’s wife and mother with obscene words.
This causes chaos in Siva’s family. Due to this mental stress, Siva’s mother gets into an accident. Siva is struggling without money for his mother’s treatment.
Did his mother survive? Was Siva able to recover from his debt problems forms the core plot of the story.
Without searching for a story from outside, director Sadha Sivam has made a film based on a common problem that people face on day-to-day life. The story has been presented ina realistic manner, making it easier for the audience to connect with it.
Since Sadha Sivam is also the hero, he has acted with understanding and feelings of the character. The way in which he has brought out the emotions of the character is really laudable.
Sai Tanya, who has been acting as the second heroine till now, has acted as the sole heroine for the first time. She has proven through her acting that she has the talent to play the main heroine. She shines in her role
Black Pandi makes a strong comeback with his witty one liners. Rest of the cast have also done their part well.
Srikanth Pichai’s background score gels well with the theme of the movie. Camerawork by Francis has captured thr day-to-day happenings in an effective manner.
Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good as well.

Rating: 4.2/5
